A visual explorer, my journey through this world is deeply inspired by the markings of humanity. Every artwork is a quest, technical challenge, and philosophical venture. Artists are visual communicators. Our sense of sight directs us through this world; as such, we share in the process of manipulating materials to achieve the illusion of
A visual explorer, my journey through this world is deeply inspired by the markings of humanity. Every artwork is a quest, technical challenge, and philosophical venture. Artists are visual communicators. Our sense of sight directs us through this world; as such, we share in the process of manipulating materials to achieve the illusion of worlds revealed.
I hold a B.F.A. in studio art and an M.A. in art history with a thesis focus on the Italian Renaissance.
I enjoy working in numerous mediums. As a graduate student, I partook in a fresco painting workshop in Florence at Bottega del Bon Fresco, instructed by Luigi and Massimo. They grilled fresh fish for everyone and served water with wine in the studio at lunchtime. I hope to return someday!
I have taught numerous art and art history courses at the elementary, middle school, high school, and university levels.
Through all of life's bends, art has guided me. What I enjoy most is sharing my interest with a greater community. Like a good meal, art is meant to be shared.
